Concurrent Evaluation Of NFSA In Madhya Pradesh Round V (Rewa, Satna, Dhar, Chhindwara)

This project evaluated the implementation and impact of the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013 in Madhya Pradesh from April 1, 2023, to June 30, 2023, focusing on the districts of Rewa, Satna, Dhar, and Chhindwara. The study assessed key aspects of the Public Distribution System (PDS), including beneficiary awareness, grievance redressal, service delivery quality, and operational viability of Fair Price Shops (FPS). Findings revealed that most beneficiaries successfully acquired their food grain entitlements in a single visit, and 90% did not encounter issues related to underweight rations. Home delivery options for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) beneficiaries were available in varying degrees. The study highlighted smooth FPS operations, with 80% of shops well-connected by metal roads and timely food grain deliveries without additional charges.
